ADS Style Licensing - Node Locked or Network
 |
- Before beginning, you should ensure you do not have a Genesys hardware key plugged in. ADS style licensing will not authorize if you have a hardware key attached.
- A Genesys hardware key will override all other licensing types.
- Before beginning you will need to know the name of the ADS license server or the local path to the ADS License file (license.lic).
|
Setting up ADS Style Licensing
- Open Genesys from the shortcut on your desktop or from Start/All Programs/Genesys(*Version)/Genesys. ( *Version) is the version of interest, i.e. 2007.03 . If you are currently running Genesys choose *Update Authorization Info * from the Help menu.
- Select Purchased Software and click Next.

- Choose the Agilent ADS-style Licensing option and then click Next.

- Click the Change button for Current ADS License Path.

- If you have a Demo license or a nodelocked license, use the Browse button to easily browse to the directory where the license.lic file is located.
If the license are available from a License server, enter the server location (with "@" preceeding), for example, if the server is called server1, you would enter "@server1".

- Click the Change button for Current ADS Bundle Selection.
- The bundles available will be listed in the left pane and selected bundles in the right pane. To select a license bundle, choose the bundle (click to highlight it) from the left pane and click Add >>. After the license bundle is listed in the right pane, click OK

- Click Finish.
- Genesys will start.
Advanced Option - Using Environment Variables
As an advanced option you can also manually set the license path and bundle name in environment variables:
- On Windows XP, choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environment Variables then add a new variable named ESL_LICENSE_LOCATION that points to the full path of your license file or to the network server. You will also need to set the variable GENESYS_LICENSE_PREF to the bundle preference you have selected.
Your environment variable can be entered either as a user variable or as a system variable. The user variable affects only the currently logged-in user; the system variable affects all users.
This should be done prior to running Genesys for the first time or your license preferences will be saved in the registry. The search order for ADS style licensing is:
- Registry settings in: HKCU/Software/Eagleware/GENESYS2008.07/Author
- Registry settings in: HKLM/Software/Eagleware/GENESYS2008.07/Author
